Cookie Policy
The cookies used on getsmartquotes.com, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to turn them off.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used or let third-party features function. This page lists the cookies used on getsmartquotes.com, why we use them, and how to control them. How we handle personal information more broadly is covered in our Privacy Policy.
2. How we use cookies
- Essential: to run the website, remember your cookie preferences, protect our forms from spam, and serve pages quickly.
- Analytics: to measure how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for this.
- Third-party content: features such as appointment scheduling and share buttons are provided by other companies and may set their own cookies when you use them.
We do not use cookies to sell your information, and we do not share phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties for marketing.
3. Essential cookies
These are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our banner. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may not work.

|---|---|---|---|
| wpconsent_preferences | getsmartquotes.com | Stores the cookie choices you make in our consent banner. | 30 days |
| nitroCachedPage | getsmartquotes.com (NitroPack) | Tells our page-speed service whether it served you a cached copy of a page, so pages load faster. | Session |

| _GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Protects our contact and quote forms from spam by analyzing form interactions. | 179 days |
4. Analytics cookies
Set through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-5XTDX3Z). They tell us which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and how they move through the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you. You can decline these in our consent banner.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to produce usage statistics. | Up to 2 years |

5. Third-party content
Some features load from other companies' servers when you use them. Those companies set cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.
- Cal.com scheduling, when you book a call with us. Cal.com privacy policy
- Google Maps and fonts. Google privacy policy
- Pinterest, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn share buttons on blog posts, if you click them.
6. How to control cookies
- Our banner. Choose which non-essential cookies to allow when you first visit. You can change your choice later using the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent forms and page caching from working.
- Google Analytics. Install Google's opt-out browser add-on to stop Analytics on all sites.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Our consent banner honors the choice you make in it; we do not currently respond to browser-level signals separately.
7. Changes
We update this page when the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows the current version.
